How Does Pro Peel Work?

Professional chemical peels use specialized solutions, like AHAs, BHAs, or TCA, to exfoliate and remove outer skin layers, promoting cell renewal and revealing a smoother complexion. Tailored to target issues like texture, discoloration, fine lines, and scars, the peel depth can vary from light to deep.

Lighter peels offer subtle results with minimal downtime and may need multiple sessions, while deeper peels provide more dramatic results in one session but require longer recovery. Customised to each client’s needs, professional peels deliver significant improvements in skin tone, texture, and radiance.

What Are The Pro Peel Benefits?

The benefits of professional chemical peels are numerous, making them a popular choice for skin rejuvenation:

  1. Improves Skin Texture and Smoothness: Chemical peels gently exfoliate the outer layers of skin, removing dead cells to reveal a softer, smoother surface. This process reduces rough patches and uneven texture, leaving skin feeling refreshed.
  2. Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles: By promoting cell turnover and collagen production, chemical peels help to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving the skin a more youthful look.
  3. Evens Out Skin Tone: Peels effectively target discoloration from sun damage, age spots, and hyperpigmentation. Regular treatments help achieve a more even, radiant complexion.
  4. Minimizes Acne Scars and Blemishes: The exfoliation process can help fade mild acne scars and clear blocked pores, reducing acne formation and leading to a clearer complexion.
  5. Boosts Product Absorption: By removing dead skin cells, chemical peels enhance the skin’s ability to absorb skincare products, making your at-home routine more effective.

With these versatile benefits, professional peels can be tailored to address individual skin concerns and provide long-lasting, noticeable improvements.

What to Expect? | FAQ Pro Peel

The frequency of professional peel treatments varies based on skin type and the peel’s depth. Light peels can be done every 2 to 4 weeks for gentle exfoliation and maintenance. Medium-depth peels are typically scheduled every 4 to 6 weeks, offering more noticeable results but requiring longer recovery.

Deep chemical peels, which provide dramatic improvements, are generally performed once every few months due to their intensity and longer healing time. It’s best to consult with a skincare professional to create a personalized treatment plan that meets your skin’s needs while ensuring optimal results and health.

Ideal candidates typically exhibit the following characteristics:

  1. Skin Concerns: Those with issues such as fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, or rough texture can benefit from chemical peels. The treatment is designed to target and improve these specific concerns effectively.
  2. Skin Types: Chemical peels can be suitable for various skin types, including oily, dry, and combination skin. However, individuals with extremely sensitive skin or active skin conditions (like eczema or psoriasis) should consult with a skincare professional first.
  3. Realistic Expectations: Candidates should have realistic expectations about the results. While chemical peels can significantly improve skin texture and appearance, multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  4. Commitment to Aftercare: Successful results depend on following a proper skincare regimen post-treatment. Good candidates are those who are willing to adhere to aftercare instructions and avoid sun exposure during the recovery period.
  5. Overall Health: Candidates should be in good overall health and not have any contraindications, such as certain medical conditions or medications that may affect healing.

Consulting with our qualified skincare professional is essential to determine if you are a good candidate for a pro peel and to discuss any concerns or specific skin goals.

Ultrasound Pro Peel is generally a gentle and non-invasive treatment, making it comfortable for most clients. The procedure involves using a handheld device that emits ultrasound waves to exfoliate the skin while delivering hydrating serums. Most people find the sensation soothing, similar to a gentle massage, rather than painful.

While individuals with very sensitive skin may experience slight discomfort, Ultrasound Pro Peel minimises sensations commonly associated with traditional chemical peels. If you have concerns about discomfort, it’s important to discuss them with your skincare professional, who can tailor the treatment to ensure your comfort while reaping the benefits.

While professional chemical peels are generally safe and well-tolerated, there can be some potential side effects, which vary based on the peel’s depth and individual skin sensitivity. Common side effects may include:

  1. Redness and Swelling: After the procedure, it’s normal to experience some redness and swelling, similar to a mild sunburn. This typically subsides within a few hours to a couple of days, depending on the peel’s intensity.
  2. Peeling and Flaking: As the skin begins to heal, you may notice peeling or flaking, particularly with medium and deep peels. This is a natural part of the exfoliation process and usually lasts several days.
  3. Dryness and Tightness: Following a chemical peel, skin may feel dry or tight. This can be managed with proper hydration and moisturizers recommended by your skincare professional.
  4. Sensitivity: Increased sensitivity to sunlight is common after a peel. It’s essential to apply broad-spectrum sunscreen and limit sun exposure to protect the newly treated skin.
  5. Hypopigmentation or Hyperpigmentation: In rare cases, some individuals may experience changes in skin color, such as lighter or darker patches. This is more likely in individuals with darker skin tones or those who do not follow aftercare instructions.
  6. Infection: Although rare, there is a small risk of infection if post-treatment care is not properly followed.

It’s crucial to follow all pre- and post-treatment instructions provided by your skincare professional to minimise the risk of side effects and ensure optimal healing. Always consult with a qualified professional to discuss your skin type and any potential risks before undergoing a chemical peel.
